Blessed are those who BELIEVE
While I was driving over the weekend, I heard a woman on the radio speak exactly what I feel God is doing in my life at this very moment.....He was calling her to BELIEVE. Believe in who He is......in what He can and will do in her life.....in His promises....in who she is in Him....BELIEVE! To be infiltrated by belief where we stand on His Word and trust in His love.....my desire. I then read a story in a magazine last night of a woman who stood on belief for 18 years before she was healed from a debilitating disease. She prayed believing and it took 18 years, but she never doubted His promise to heal her, and He did. The article then went on to say, what blocks our prayers? What keeps his promises from coming quickly? The article mentioned a few things that hinder the answers to our prayers:
- Secret sin that has not been repented.
- Doubt or disbelief when asking.
- Praying outside of His will
- The appointed time had not yet come and truths were still to be learned.
I can not tell the state of your soul.....if there lives doubt or "secret" sin, and I don't know the appointed time for your promise to manifest has come, but I CAN help you align to praying in His will. These things we know with certainty:
- God promises that His Word will not return void but accomplish what He desires (Isaiah 55:11).
- He says that I will give anything you ask that brings GLORY to the father if you BELIEVE (John 14:13).
- The Word of God is the will of God.
- The Word of God is our Sword (Ephesians 6).
When I hear "pray in the Spirit" to me that is something intimate- a communion with God aligned to the will of God led by the spirit dwelling within. It is allowing the Spirit to guide your prayers to Him. However on this one occasion in Ephesians where Paul teaches us to put on the full armor of God, he says this ......
Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit , which is the word of God. And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and request.
It seems to me that Paul is calling us on this occasion to take up the sword of the spirit and pray in it. We know the Word is the will of God, so certainly this makes sense. His Word is promised not to return void and it brings glory to His kingdom. But something else happens too.....test me in this:) When you pray in the Word of God and you profess and declare His Word, something happens within. I would say that it rises up His Spirit within us. Our faith comes by hearing the Word of God, and as we profess it it seems to double the portion. Proclaiming the Word of God edifies our faith.
I declare..... My feet are like hinds feet able to stand on heights, my hands and trained for battle, I carry a shield of victory, and in your right hand I am sustained. You are my God who turns my enemies back in flight. You deliver me from the attacks of people.Praise be to my Rock who brings Victory! He shows unfailing kindness to His anointed- David and his descendents FOREVER! I claim your word this Day! I claim Victory. Bring me to new heights Lord! I praise your holy name!Psalm 19
This is taking the Word of God and using it as a sword but also speaking life into your life. Remember, death and life are in the power of the tongue (Proverbs 18:21). When we pray scripture we know we are speaking life, we are drawing His Sword (Ephesians 6), we are edifying our faith (Romans 10:17), we are praying in His will and His answers to His promises are "yes" and "amen" (2 Cor 1:20).
So now I have a request:) I have had a number of you write that you would like to be apart of this ministry. I feel it would be so helpful to provide a resource of praying the Word of God just like I did above with Psalm 19. Find a Psalm or a verse that you love and turn it into a declaration or a prayer or a song, and send it to us at firstname.lastname@example.org. We will take your words and prayers and bind them together as a tool to share with other women, so that we can each align to the will of God as we draw His Sword and stand believing in what He can, will and desires to do in our lives. Maybe this is your first step at becoming His light;) We will put your name by your prayer, unless you prefer not to.
Perhaps your time has not come, and there is more to be done on your journey to your promises, but we will not miss our promises because we are living in sin, doubt, disbelief or praying outside of the will of God! Will you join me in declaring the Word of God?
Seek. Love. Follow.
