21 Day Dare: Day 7- Dare to REST

Bill Johnson says,

"Bible study without Bible experience is pointless."

How often we speak the Word of God, yet have never allowed it to manifest in our lives. Can we be Still and allow Him to be God? Can we Rest? Can we Trust His Goodness? Can we make space on this Sunday to simply relax on the back porch and take in all of His creation with a cup of coffee? Can we hear His song for us in the birds? Can we feel His touch in the breeze even if it is ever so slight? Can we see beauty in what may normally seem mundane, because it was crafted by His hands?

One of my favorite books is An Altar in the World by Barbara Brown Taylor. I learned from Barbara how to see the sacred in the simple. It is like good medicine to the soul to sit and appreciate the place we so often take for granted. We don't have to enter a building to feel the presence of God; We can feel Him right where we are. We can stop and take notice and see that the sacred is all around us.

Today, you are called to rest and enjoy His presence in all things. Kari Jobe is one of my favorite musicians, and today we will use her lyrics to "Here" to lead us to this place of REST.

Come, and rest here
Come, and lay your burdens down
Come, and rest here
There is refuge for you now
You'll find his peace
You'll know you're not alone anymore
He is here
You'll find his healing
You're heart isn't shattered anymore
He is Here
Breathe in
Breathe out
You will, You will find him here
Come, and rest here
Come, and lay your burdens down
Come, and rest here
There is refuge for you now
You'll find his peace
You'll know you're not alone anymore
He is here
You'll find his healing
You're heart isn't shattered anymore
He is Here
Breathe in
Breathe out
You will, You will find here
I will rest in you
I will rest in you
I will rest in you
(I will)
I will rest in you
Breathe in
Breathe out
You will, You will find here
Breathe in
Breathe out
You will, You will find here

I'm so excited that you are still pressing in! Do not get weary, for the longing of your heart awaits!

In His Wings,
Ro
