21 Day Dare: Day 15- Dare to align your words with your destiny

The tongue has the power of life and death, and those who love it will eat its fruit.
— Proverbs 18:21

You have certainly heard these words and probably even spoken them at some point or another. We know the words, but do we know their truth?

A few years ago, I felt the Lord speaking to me about my words and how my negative confessions were keeping me in a place of struggle. If you keep saying your life will never get easier, Rochelle, it won't. Wow! Conviction ran deep. My own words were possibly blocking the favor God was seeking to unlock in my life.

I sought the Lord for wisdom that season, but the only word I received was this

Sometimes we say we believe, but our words don't align to belief. Out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks. Matthew 12:34 We can take a good faith check by simply listening to  our words. Are our words full of hope, love and anticipation or doubt, despair and disbelief? Do our words align with our identity in Christ? Hmmm...

I learned in that season the power of my words. I saw how my negative and toxic confessions were blocking my blessings. I also saw the hand of God move in a mighty way as I confessed belief that begin to overflow from the abundance of my heart. As I begin to move to this awareness of the power of confessing my belief, I begin to see it throughout scripture in a new light.

Ask BELIEVING and ye shall receive. Matthew 21:22

The prayers of the righteous availeth much. (Abraham was considered righteous because of his faith. So you could translate this as The prayers of the BELIEVING availeth much.) James 5:16

He gives generously and abundantly without finding fault but when you ask you must BELIEVE. James 1:5

I ask you again, does God give you the Holy Spirit and work miracles among you because you obey the law? Of course not! It is because you believe the message you heard about Christ. Galatians 3:5

I could continue on and on with words found in the New Covenant that speak to the power of BELIEF! For the last seven days, I encourage you fast negative confessions over your finances, health, marriage, career, home, children or circumstances. You may be more familiar with fasting food or TV or Facebook, but one week I felt led to fast negative words. Initially I thought it was an odd request, but ultimately it ended up being one of the most joyous weeks of my life. I could not entertain even the slightest negative confession, and I was intentional about speaking life and I saw the most amazing difference in my every day.  We have the authority to speak LIFE, and if we truly desire freedom we have to step into that authority.

Of course, I have a story...

It was Sunday evening about 9pm. I had been trying to save 8,000 to purchase books for my upcoming season. The deadline was Monday morning at 8am to have the books in time. I decided to drive to the Chapel and lay on the floor reading Isaiah 54..

For your Maker is your husband— the LORD Almighty is his name— the Holy One of Israel is your Redeemer; he is called the God of all the earth.
— 54:5

I was a single mom, and His promise to me was that He was my Eternal Husband. His promise too was that if I asked believing that He was generous.  I was entering my busiest season with no books, and I needed the income from the books to provide for our family. I prayed and left with a great sense of peace. As I was turning in the driveway my headlights fell upon my mailbox and I stopped. It was Sunday night late, but I felt the prompting to check the box. It was dark so I shined my phone light in the box, and I was frozen by the presence of a white envelope. It was more than the amount I needed, and I would never question again the power of believing and professing His promises....

I am generous and I love you, but when you doubt you are like a wave tossed to and fro double-minded and unstable in all you do. Cast your anxieties on me, because I truly do care for you! Believe!

Aligning your words to belief will move you closer to your destiny! This I know!

I dare you to see for yourself!

In His Wings,
