Do you desire to be transformed?

Hello Sweet Friends,

I am continually undone by His GRACE. Just when I think I get it, He takes me deeper still. It is such a breath of fresh air for this over achieving perfectionist to finally accept that there is nothing I can do to earn God's love. It was given. It's a gift. I simply must receive it. His love is unconditional of my performance or circumstances or my past. It is freedom to my soul. No guilt. No shame. No regret. Pain births purpose. When the truth of this moves from our head to our heart it changes us. Many of us have more than enough "head knowledge," but as long as it remains in our heads it's just information. We must seek transformation!

When I was a little girl, my mom cross stitched a little Indian girl with the words "His yoke is easy and His burden is light." As a young girl, I looked like a little Indian girl with overly tanned skin and long braids, so I suppose she looked like me. Getting grace brings me back to that picture and those words my mom seeded in my room as a little girl. I didn't get it then, but grace brings me to the truth that His burden is light. Why have we walked so burdened when He says, My yoke is easy and my burden is light? There is a lightness both in weight and in radiance that comes from comprehending grace. Freedom is a beautiful thing!

"Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and YOU WILL FIND REST FOR YOUR SOULS. "For My yoke is easy and My burden is light." Matthew 11:29-30

It is so freeing when you truly comprehend  that the finished work of the cross means it was finished. We can stop nailing ourselves with shame and regret, because the price has been paid in full. I get this now. However, my struggle has been with this question if we don't have to do or earn or achieve, but simply receive why do I still have such a desire to stir in others to seek the Word of God? Why do I have an even stronger desire to be there? If we are all children of God, why do some know it in their marrow and some can hardly comprehend it?

And then I find the answer....

The Word of God is not for Him but for US. God doesn't need us to read His Word to please Him or make Him feel like God. He is complete without us adding to Him. Us reading the Word does not change Him, but it completely change us. I know with certainty the impact it has had on my life. I can tell a difference when I have missed it. I can take captive all of my roller coaster of emotions when I embrace it. It moves me in a way nothing else even compares, as many of you know who have heard me speak, because I think it is obvious that I am passionate about the Word of God!

Sweet friends, if you want transformation, you must seek the Word not for Him but for YOU.

With this realization, I begin unwrapping all of the reasons I run to His Word, and why I am so passionate about it and it led me to this list....

The Word is our  weapon in warfare. If you don't know it, you don't know the authority you have or how to war up when needed, and often we end up dwelling in a pit.

The Word is our TRUTH and without it we fall prey to an "American Gospel" that is far from Jesus.

The Word of God brings us peace amidst storms.

The Word of God moves us to a place of joy and intimacy as we grow in it.

The Word of God is our spiritual mirror telling us who we are.

The Word of God speaks into us HOPE in just saying it aloud.

The Word of God is our teacher imparting wisdom, guiding us how to pray, revealing His love, and introducing us to our Savior, Jesus.

The Word of God awakens the Spirit within us and we become more aware of His Presence.

The Word of God empowers our prayers because His Word is not returned void.

The Word of God renews our mind.

The Word of God is alive and active so we hear Him through it.

I think so many struggle finding a passion for the Word, because it is something we are "suppose" to do. How differently would you approach it if you realized that it isn't about an obligation you must meet to gain His approval, but the source of life that could set you FREE?

Grace is good news, sweet friends. Freedom waits. You can keep believing that one day when you enter those pearly gates you will be set free, or you can realize that the Kingdom of Heaven is at hand for those who desire it enough to seek it. It's worth it. It's worth everything!

In His Wings,
