Becoming Whole: Week 21 ...Getting in the Secret Place

Then you will know the truth and the truth will set you free.

John 8:32

I have found on my personal journey as a seeker that many areas of my life that I had put walls up of judgement, feared, or deemed "weird," were the very areas that ultimately brought me closer to the Father or freedom. I have learned that the enemy is never unique or creative, but rather a cheap imitator with a passion to steal what God meant to gift us. He takes what is godly and twist it, perverts it, or abuses it so that we don't touch the very thing that may awaken us, free us, or align us.

Satan himself masquerades as an angel of light. 2 Cor 11:14

Our childhood images of a horned red character with a pitch fork have deceived us to believe that we can easily discern his dark presence, when in truth he can come "like" the light. The false light breads deception and deception keeps us from truth.

I wonder how hungry you are to be everything you were created to be? How hungry for truth?

Behold, You desire truth in the innermost being, And in the hidden part You will make me know wisdom. Psalm 51:6

Yesterday we looked at the life of a woman with bleeding issues. She was at the end after spending all she had. She was outcast in a culture that labeled her tainted. For twelve years she searched for healing, and then one day she decided to break out of normal. She decided to press in and take hold of what was available. This pressing brought her not only healing, but sozo! She was saved, healed, and delivered. Are you desperate enough to grab hold of your destiny that you would PRESS?

I ask this because only the truly hungry...those who thirst for Him... will get uncomfortable enough to find truth as their reality. And this is what we are after....truth from our experience. We want an experience to testify to the truth of God, not second hand testimonies or history lessons. A W Tozer says that what makes those who live out the full Christian experience different from those who miss it is that they recognize there is MORE and they pursue it until it becomes the greatest thing in their lives. Ultimately, they are willing to PRESS even if it doesn't conform or fit, even if they have to rewire some thinking patterns, release some inner vows or retract some "I will never..." statements. I say this from's worth it to break the box and let yourself out!

Because we begin to enter into a month of seeking to move deeper into the secret place and intimacy, I will share FIVE KEYS this week that I found that were previously areas I had blocked God from moving out of fear, judgement, or discomfort. We will no longer let the imitator of light keep us from the light. We will no longer allow fear to keep us from love. We will no longer settle for where we are when their is a book of destiny waiting to be fulfilled through us.

We begin this new phase with asking for God to give us a new THIRST!

Writing scripture on your heart is good for the soul, so today begin to memorize Psalm 63. He promises to fulfill His word, so speak aloud your thirst for Him from His word and find your soul is satisfied.

You, God, are my God,
   earnestly I seek you;
I thirst for you,
    my whole being longs for you,
in a dry and parched land
    where there is no water.

 I have seen you in the sanctuary
    and beheld your power and your glory.
 Because your love is better than life,
    my lips will glorify you.
 I will praise you as long as I live,
    and in your name I will lift up my hands.
 I will be fully satisfied as with the richest of foods;
    with singing lips my mouth will praise you.

 On my bed I remember you;
    I think of you through the watches of the night.
 Because you are my help,
    I sing in the shadow of your wings.
 I cling to you;
    your right hand upholds me.

Give us a thirst as we seek Your presence! Give us a holy hunger to PRESS even when it is uncomfortable or against the culture. Let us experience Your great love that is better than everything this world offers. May Your life become the greatest thing in our lives!

In Jesus Name,
