Day 17: 21 Days to Your Eternal Husband

Day one (6).png

Dear His Beloved,

Jesus said to the Pharisees and the teachers of the law, your lips honor me but your hearts are far from me. (Matthew 15:8) In our culture, our translation for "knowing" is far from the "knowing" of the Jewish culture. Our knowing drives us to head knowledge, but their knowing had to do intimacy. Ginosko {Greek} and Yada {Hebrew} are the root words for know and both describe intimacy between a man and a woman. If we miss this truth, we can be dangerously deceived that we know Him when we don't know Him at all.

Look at these verses:

And Adam knew Eve his wife; and she conceived,  Genesis 4:1 KJV

Then said Mary unto the angel, How shall this be, seeing I know not a man? Luke 1:34 KJV

And why is this so important?

Now this is eternal life: that they know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent.John 17:3

Are you seeing this....Our eternity depends on our translation of knowing!

As I was contemplating this thought, I was reminded of my relationship with my husband. There are things we share with each other that no one else has access too....we talk about our day including our wins and/or our fears, we talk about our plans and dreams, we have honest conversation about our children or our parenting, we talk about struggles of the day, and right now we are working on living more missionally so we are searching our our core values together. I think the heart of the Father is that much like our intimate relationships on Earth, he wants to be apart of our life, our dreams, our fears. He wants to be the first person we celebrate with and the first person we run to in our grief. He wants to comfort us and lead us and love us in a way we desperately long to be loved.

I encourage you today to use your quiet time to get to know Him.

What does He have to say just to you today?

What do you want to share with Him that you haven't shared with anyone? What's the greatest fear buried deep?

What does He love most about you?

What does He call you?

What has been His favorite moment with you?

Journal. Journal. Journal.

It's time to get to know Him!

Could the desire of your heart be knowing Him?

Seeking more,
