The key to proclaiming the Word
This week I hoped to focus on blessings, because I felt led that God wants to bless us....perhaps in this very moment. I love when I find confirmation of His voice, and yesterday was one of those days. Someone sent me an email from Joel Osteen and he too spoke the desire of God to bless us and another sent me a quote from Kay Arthur who used the very same verse I did yesterday.....God is aligning our hearts as we seek Him, indeed. It reminds me of when the disciples were gathered in the upper room waiting as Jesus instructed for His return. They weren't sure what they were waiting for, but He told them to wait, so they waited it says in One Accord until the spirit of God descending upon them with power. Perhaps God is aligning us in one accord all with the same heart seeking to receive His power to do His work, and the power will come unlike ever before? My hope:)
Today, in this quest to speak blessings into your life and home, I want you to notice this theme.....I simply googled the words....and I cried out to the Lord and this is a taste of what I found.....
In my distress I called upon the LORD, And cried to my God for help; He heard my voice out of His temple, And my cry for help before Him came into His ears. Psalm 18:6
The righteous cry out, and the LORD hears them; he delivers them from all their troubles. Psalm 34:17
Then we cried out to the LORD, the God of our ancestors, and the LORD heard our voice and saw our misery, toil and oppression. So the LORD brought us out of Egypt with a mighty hand and an outstretched arm. Deuteronomy 26:7-8
In my distress, I called to the Lord and He heard me. Jonah 2:2
And two of my personal favorites:)
We will stand in your presence before this temple that bears your Name and will cry out to you in our distress, and you will hear us and save us. (Jehoshaphat) 2 Chronicles 20:9
Jabez cried out to the God of Israel, "Oh, that you would bless me and enlarge my territory! Let your hand be with me, and keep me from harm so that I will be free from pain." And God granted his request. 1 Chronicles 4:10
This is simply a taste of all of those that cried out to God and saw deliverance. There is no doubting the power in crying to God....revealing the desperation of your heart for His hand into your life. And I can not say for certain that these words came with tears, but for certain they came audible. They didn't merely think about their needs, but they called or cried them out, and every single one of them found that He answered! You could visit your local Barnes and Nobles and probably find an entire row of books that speak to the power of proclaiming the Word aloud, so I don't claim to be giving new revelation here, but I felt today we must be reminded that our faith calls us to call out in faith believing as Jehoshaphat did. Notice that Jehoshaphat proclaimed these words before they happened. He wasn't giving thanks for what had happened, but what he knew was going to happen. He spoke a prophetic blessing over the people and God answered!
Who needs a blessing in your life? Who can you bless? While you are pondering this thought, I offer you this blessing......
I thank you for allowing us as your children to speak your blessings into our lives knowing that you hear us and you answer. Today, Father, I ask that you bless my dear sisters (and brothers:) that are reading this message. I pray that you bless them and keep them. I pray that your glory radiates from them as it did Moses. I pray that your love consumes them deep into their innermost being. I pray they find favor in unexpected place. I pray they seek you in a way that would call you to reveal yourself to each and every one of them. Father, set a fire in their souls that they can not contain or control. May they become the spark that sets a wildfire on dry grounds.
In the name of Jesus, Receive this blessing!
