Is your heart pure?

Screen Shot 2013-09-27 at 7.53.57 AMGood morning sweet friends, I don't know about you, but I have a heart for justice. There are some things that truly make me a little crazy trying to comprehend and understand, but nothing bothers me quite like the struggle to understand motives and intentions and manipulation of those claiming to be Christians, but truthfully are far from even a scent of Christianity, the words come.......

Out of the heart the mouth speaks. Luke 6:45

And I look deeper to Luke to find that fullness of this verse....

A good man brings good things out of the good stored up in his heart, and an evil man brings evil things out of the evil stored up in his heart. For the mouth speaks what the heart is full of.

And I wonder what this says about the condition of our hearts?

My daughter is twelve and began her first year in junior high this year. A big year for her. A big year for mom having to navigate her feelings and emotions knowing she is now living on a hormonal roller coaster. But to pair those emotions with "mean girls," sometimes can take you to the edge. If you have preteen/teen girls, you know this I speak. What I don't understand is how the most hurtful words come from those that claim to be the "good ones" or the "Christian girls." To get to a place where your daughter doesn't want to go to church, because that is where the mean girls are? As my little man Jackson would say, Seriously? And I have prayed with so very many moms this year with daughters victims to bullying, and I just can't wrap my mind around the notion that one could speak into another's life words that would pierce a soul so deeply with no conscience. It breaks my heart.

And as women, women we are not immune to this same piercing. But what rubs my heart raw, is that so often and even most often, the words come from those claiming to be Christian.  And sometimes it comes in an attempt to be offered up as concerned prayer, "Bless her heart, we should pray for Suzy, did you hear??" Claiming to be righteous we portray nothing of Christ at all, and we often wound those who need us most.

So I offer this today as your measure pure and simple.

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law. Galatians 5:22-23

Fruit is evidence. If you are operating out of the Spirit of God, there should be evidence. This evidence consists of love, joy and peace. It is kindness and goodness and faithfulness, gentleness and self control.  If you are operating out of jealousy, manipulation, offense, revenge and anger you are not operating from a spirit of God, but of evil. And I think it is time we stop allowing women to live here. It is not okay that you live your life in bitterness seeking revenge, and especially claiming to be Christian. It is not okay.  Pure and simple there is nothing Christian about it. And it will ultimately do more damage to your destiny than to those you seek out to hurt.  Where the spirit of the Lord is there is freedom..... so the truth is that those living here are the true captives bound to the fruit of evil wounding more Christians than leading them to Kingdom.

So I say this for a few reasons......

First, if you are operating from a place of bitterness, revenge, manipulation or anger, you need to realize the condition of your heart is not aligned to the will of God. I pray that God would drawn you in and do some mending and healing, because as long as you live here, you are not working for His Kingdom but for the enemy.

Second, if you are a mother according to Deuteronomy 6, it is your calling to impress the truth upon your children, so you are accountable to your children that don't recognize what it is to live and speak life into others. We must teach our children what is the fruit of the spirit and operate out of it in our home. They must know the power of life and death in the tongue. They must know that a Christian builds up and never breaks down. It is our calling to teach them these things!

Third, if you are one who feels that those in the body of Christ have wounded you by their words and actions, from the bottom of my heart, I apologize for them. It is not Christ. Christ did not condemn the woman at the well with her five husbands, but loved her. Christ brought one of His greatest writers of the New Testament from a murderer. I am not justifying their actions, but saying that true heart Christians NEVER seek to destroy, but to love and choose to walk with you and lead you to truth and light not cast you from it. My fear is that as a result of such actions, that you too would become bitter, revengeful and angry, and so I give you His truth........God Has This! His Promises....

No weapon formed against you will prosper. Isaiah 54:17 I will prepare a table before you in the presence of your enemy, and I will anoint your head with oil and overflow your cup. Psalm 23 I will work ALL things for the good of those that love Him. Romans 8:28 I send you out like sheep among wolves, because I AM A LION! Matthew 10:16 I will bring beauty from your ashes. Isaiah 61

I will bless those that bless you and curse those that curse you. Genesis 12

Father, there are those among us that need a change of heart Father. There are those among us that have fell prey to the enemy believing that they were entitled to anger and bitterness and both have led to the release of evil among our body of Christians. Father, we ask that you step in with the balm of Gilead and heal these women. May your love massage their hearts back to real life in Christ. May they begin to know freedom and fruit of your spirit. Father, I lift up the mothers among us and I ask that you give them divine wisdom to impart to their children. Give them the energy in their busy lives to make time and commitment to produce children that bear your fruit! Give us a desire to be the difference in our homes and our children the difference in our schools, Father. I lift up all of our girls that are prey to bullying and ask that today they experience grace and freedom in their day. Make it a new day for them Father. Let them see in their souls the truth that they are precious and you love them. I stand in the gap Father for those among us and those we love that are prey to evil Father, and I ask that you bind up the enemy. I ask Father that all attempts to destroy are broken before your throne. Father, I ask that you step in with your mighty hand and prepare a table before them all with a cup overflowing and an anointing that runs like a river through their wounded souls. Be healing Father. Bring them to new life and heal their wounds, Father. Make our body of Christ one that people run to in time of need Father not from. We need you Father. We need you. Will you give us each victory this day? Will you step in and change our circumstances and lives forever? This is the day Father that victory is ours!!!! We love you and praise you Father, for you are good! In the name of Jesus, Amen.

Seek. Love. Follow.

In His Wings, Ro
